Job Summary

Join our dedicated team as a Formula Preparation Specialist! You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, sanitary, and accurate formula preparations for patients, all within a timely manner.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: Prior customer service experience is highly valued.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform mathematical and formula calculations.
  • Familiarity with aseptic techniques and sanitation standards is a plus.
  • Sensitivity to patient ethnic and cultural differences in formula use/preparation.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Time management and accountability skills.

Key Responsibilities

Specialized Duties

  • Communicate with medical, nursing, and nutrition teams to clarify and prioritize formula orders.
  • Create and label specialized formulas according to established standards.
  • Maintain a sanitized workspace and sterilize mixing equipment using the dishwasher.
  • Organize stockrooms for optimal product visibility, ensuring compliance with food safety and inspection standards.
  • Track productivity, including formula inventory, orders, and expiration dates. Discard expired formulas appropriately.
  • Manage overnight kits to ensure formula availability for new orders or admissions.
  • Accurately measure and weigh formula ingredients using precise tools like gram scales and graduated cylinders.
  • Follow standardized recipe charts or customized instructions for preparing formulas.
  • Deliver formulas to nursing units within 90 minutes for new orders.
  • Properly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adhere to storage protocols for opened containers.

General Duties

  • Maintain accountability by completing required certifications, health screenings (PPD, N95, Flu), and educational requirements.
  • Adhere to timekeeping and attendance standards while demonstrating professional behavior and communication.
